Lauryn Hill is an outstanding woman in production, rap and hip-hop. She was also a TV and film actress at a young age. In high school Hill joined the hip-hop group Fugees (short for ‘refugees’). At 23 years of age, she wrote, produced, and released her solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The album is an immortal blend of soul, hip hop, and 90s R&B. The gorgeous piano glissandos, orchestral swells, vocal runs and lyrics of the title track are a perfect display of the varied skills of Lauryn Hill. Since then, her work has been sampled on many tracks, such as Drake’s “Nice for What” and Ye’s “Believe What I Say”.
